Le Club du Groove was formed in early 2026, bringing together three experienced Adelaide musicians: Patrick Sorrentino (vocals, guitar, keys), Ronny Davidson (bass, harmonica, percussion), and Matt Carson (drums, percussion). Drawing on a shared love of blues, funk and groove-based music, the band creates a distinctive sound infused with Creole and Latin influences.
Since forming, the trio has rapidly moved from rehearsal room to live stage, performing at venues such as Wassail Wine Bar and Semaphore Workers Club, building a strong local following through energetic, dance-driven performances.
Le Club du Groove focuses on original material, combining tight musicianship with expressive, groove-heavy arrangements. The band is currently recording its debut EP, featuring five original tracks that capture its raw live energy and rhythmic identity.

Matt Carson playing recording percussion.
We’ve been trying to squeeze as much out of Matt as we can before he heads off on his European tour… haha!
Last night we laid down some percussion for Three Cool Cats and She’s a Full Time Occupation — and wow, what a job he did. I’ll upload a little sample later… it’s sounding amazing.
We’ve got it all happening — timbales, bongos, cowbellssssss… the works!
Now it’s over to Ronny and me to hold the fort for the next couple of months until Matt gets back.

Here’s a little recap of what we’ve accomplished in just three months. We’re currently recording a 5-track EP, which will include the official version of She’s a Full-Time Occupation.
For those who are interested, I originally wrote this song about 30 years ago. I could never quite get it to sound the way I wanted. I brought it into our first jam as something to play around with, and Matt did something with the rhythm that completely blew me away. Percussion has become a big part of the song (which isn’t featured in this version).
This recording is actually just the “bed” we’ll use for the full studio version—hence the absence of percussion.
The video clips are taken from four gigs over the past three months, filmed by people who came along and later shared them on social media—haha. A special thank you to Brigitte Dawson, Julie Kushnir and Kristen Lee.
I’d also like to thank the Semaphore Workers Club, and especially Jake and his family at Wassail, for their incredible support and friendship. Love you guys 🙂

A little promo video of us playing the Rolling Stones‘ classic ‘Miss You’.
Again, this was made to promote our next gig.

Special thank you to Grant Tucker and David for these photos.

It’s always more fun to play guitar on top of tables.
Ronny and I are doing some promoting.
This is a stripped-back version of Three Cool Cats, just me on guitar and vocals. I originally planned to record only a 20-second clip to promote our gig on March 22, but while I was at it, I decided to capture the full song.
The idea came about during an evening at my place with Ronny and a couple of bottles of red. He suggested writing a song about three cool cats, and I ran with it. Somewhere between the first and second bottle, we also floated another idea—Queen of the Court.
Just having some fun with AI and some poster generation. The music is actually an original composition and recording from a song recorded many years ago call ‘From The Look In Your Eye’ Its on my first album.
