Welcome! My name is Patrick Sorrentino, a French/Australian musician and TV host for ‘Mega Music TV’ in Adelaide, Australia. This blog chronicles a journey that began two years ago when I decided to release a new song and video after years of self-imposed creative exile. Originally intended as a diary to capture the daily progress of an artist crafting a new creation, it was meant to reflect the dreamy ponderings and challenges of such a project. However, due to time constraints, it didn’t go as planned, lol. This is still about a journey, and like many travels, it sometimes leads to unexpected places. Patrick 😊

What a huge day at 3D Radio’s Sonic Spire! So much incredible music, and we were lucky enough to chat with some fantastic acts. A special shout-out to Cahli and Tahlia from Teenage Joans — absolute legends and great fun to talk to. Others on the list were Oils, Coldwave and Ella Ion. Also, special thanks to Grant Tucker, who dropped in for some camera work. We could not have done it without you, Grant, thanks. Plenty more coming soon!

What an amazingly busy, exciting, and productive week it has been!
It all started on Monday with the fantastic opportunity to co-host Monday Latte on Coast FM alongside the wonderful Cheryl Lee. Thank you so much, Cheryl, for giving me the chance to share my story. The exciting part is that the show was filmed and will appear on Rider TV in the new year. A big thank-you as well to everyone who called in during the broadcast.

On Wednesday night, Mark Thurston and I interviewed Opulence and Eddie Peters (Uncle Eddie) for our upcoming music TV show, Australian Indie Music TV. We’re aiming to release the first season in early 2026 on Channel 44. Mark and I have been incredibly productive and are feeling very excited about what’s ahead.

This Saturday, we’ve been invited to film at Sonic Spire, presented by Three D Radio. Not only will we be capturing great footage of bands like Coldwave, Mondo Psycho, and Teenage Joins, but we’re also hoping to grab a few cool interviews.
Stay tuned—there’s so much more to come! 😊

Hi everyone, and welcome to the latest update. It’s been six months since the last one, and things have been very busy!
I’m very excited to announce that Nick Southgate from The Houey Badges has stepped in to lay down some drums.
Ronny Davidson, Nick, and I spent a few nights together recently and put together four new songs. It was a real pleasure and a lot of fun.
Two of these songs are written in Franglais—a blend of French and English. Anyone who has grown up in a bilingual household will know exactly what I mean: a parent speaks in their native language, the child responds in English, and over time, the conversation naturally becomes a mix of both. In my case, it was French and English — Franglais.
We’ll be filming the videos early next year, so keep an eye out for “Je M’en Fous” and “Les Rues du Panier.”

I’ve also been busy working on the new TV show with Mark Thurston. We’ve already completed a number of interviews and a lot of pre-production. The show will be called Australian Indie Music TV, a new direction from MegaMusic TV.
This new series will feature a broader range of ages and musical styles, along with special segments dedicated to music-related topics—such as drumstick making, local heroes, and, importantly, emerging artists from all over Australia.

18/06/2025 Behind the Scenes – “I Ain’t Gonna Ask Anymore”
So excited to finally share an update on what’s been a very busy and creative month! We’ve officially started filming the video for my upcoming single, “I Ain’t Gonna Ask Anymore.”
It’s a bit surreal, honestly — this song was written and recorded over a year and a half ago. When I dug out the original storyboard for the video, it still had “2023” scribbled on it. Yep, that’s how long these things can take. It’s frustrating at times, but that’s the nature of music and creativity — things come together when they’re meant to.
The upside? In the time this one song waited for its spotlight, around 20 other tracks have been recorded and are now close to completion. So, yes — video plans for future singles are already on the table, which is incredibly exciting.
But first things first: “I Ain’t Gonna Ask Anymore.”
“This song captures that raw, painful moment in a breakup when you finally realise it’s over. Not the dramatic kind of “maybe there’s still hope” — but the cold, clear moment when you know there’s no going back. It’s about letting go of the questions, the blame, the reasons, and finally stepping forward. I’ve had my fair share of endings, and they never get easier, but this track is about finding strength in the decision to move on.“
The editing has begun, and the video is really starting to take shape. Huge thanks go out to the incredible musicians who brought this track to life:
- Bass: Ronny Davidson
- Keys: Tracy Dowden (who also featured on my last single)
- Backing Vocals: Julie Kushnir, Carina Green, and Natalie Ermer
And to the wonderful people involved in the video:
- On-camera performances: Mary Henry-Davis, Kira Kyusu Lewis, and Steve Dowden
- Camera: Grant Tucker
- Special thanks to Wassail for letting us shoot on location
There’s a lot more to come, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Until then, thanks for listening, watching, and walking this journey with me.
Stay tuned.
— Patrick

20/05/2025 “I Ain’t Gonna Ask Anymore” – Video in Production!
At last, the video for “I Ain’t Gonna Ask Anymore” is officially in production!
I’m thrilled to share a sneak peek — the guitar solo is here and it’s sounding 🔥
Massive thanks to Grant Tucker for his brilliant camera work and unwavering support.
More to come soon — stay tuned!

FinallyI Upcoming song for 2025

Hi everyone! I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been busy with MegaMusic TV and other projects. Let me update you on what’s been happening.
Firstly, MegaMusic TV Session 5 has finally aired in Australia. It started in December 2024 on Channel 31 in Victoria and early January 2025 in Adelaide on Channel 44. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience. The show has been running for 5 years, and the team before me was amazing, so there was a bit of pressure and big shoes to fill. I’m proud to say the response has been fantastic, especially in Victoria. You guys ROCK!

Additionally, my new album is progressing, and my studio has transformed from a recording space into a video production set. I’ve been working on pre-production for upcoming videos. The plan is to film two new videos for the album. The first single, “I Ain’t Gonna Ask Anymore,” is set to start filming sometime in May. Exciting times ahead!

Finally, my good friend Eddie Peters has asked me to play a few shows in his band for the 2025 Adelaide Fringe. So, I’m pretty excited about that. Stay cool and talk to you all soon 😊

What a great night. Talking to Kyan Burns for MEGAmusic TV about her new upcoming song. I was privileged enough to view a pre-release of her latest video (due out for release on Friday) and it is absolutely amazing! Great work Kyan. Thanks to Mark Thurston and Sue Hedley as always for your amazing work.

Wow!! this new song has it all. Digi, Slide and now some beautiful Harmonica thanks to the very talented Ron Kriekenbeek from the local band ‘The Furball Express’. The song is called ‘I’m Coming Home’ a story of an elder coming to the end of his life. There is nothing more haunting and beautiful than Digi and Harp playing together. Thank you, Ron. Can’t wait to release this.

Amazing time last night with Steve and Tracy Dowden from ‘Final Touch’. Here, I am listening to Steve’s work on drums. Both have contributed their talent to my upcoming album. Tracy also played on my last single ‘I Just Wanna Make Love To You’. Thank you so much, guys.

A TV host is the last thing I thought I’d ever be doing Lol But here I am hosting Mega Music TV! Big, big shoes to fill. Last night I interviewed Gwyn Ashton and Peter and Rob from PlanB. Thank you so much to Mark Thurston and Sue Hedley for having faith in me and asking me to be the show’s new host.

Merry Christmas to everyone. Thanx for all your support. It’s been a very busy year writing lots of new songs. The album is 90% written. I can’t wait till next year to share the news songs with you all.

In the last post, I said that I would soon be doing some acoustic solo gigs. That usually means a photo shoot lol. Here are the best. I’m not at all a photogenic person, so many shots need to be taken haha.

I know that it has been a while between drinks but that doesn’t mean that things have not been happening. I have been hard at work writing songs for the album. There are so many songs that it’s sometimes hard to keep up. When working on an album I like to write a lot of music. This gives me more options in the final production. All I can say at this point in time is that Blues will have a strong influence on this new album.
In the last few months, I’ve also been working hard promoting the first two singles (see below) and I must say that I am overwhelmed by the oversea support, particularly in France and the US. “Just Wanna Make Love To You” has been playlisted on a number of radio stations, Meuse FM, Dynamyk FM and Radiokc FM (France) so, merci beaucoup pour le soutien en France. Both singles have been played on the US station Amazing Radio. Also, last year I did an interview for a US magazine called ‘Beyond The Gravestones.’ That month I was the magazine’s featured ‘Ghost Guitarist‘. Cheque it out:
So thank you to the lovely Christina Corsetti and Katie Annette Heart for all your support.
Locally, I want to send out a very special thanks to Sue Hedley and Mark Thurston and the crew on Mega Music TV for their ongoing support. They have played both my videos on multiple occasions, I really appreciate that as well as the interview I did with Vince Contarino.
Future Gigs? Many people have been asking me, ‘When are you going to do another gig?’ Well, that is a difficult question to answer. At the moment, I’m extremely focused on finishing my album. Also, the expense of putting on a show. I could go on a rant about the local music industry/venues, but I won’t. Let me just say that as a solo artist, the financial burden is mine to carrier and I believe that the people who play with me deserve to be paid for the many years of work they have put into developing their skills. Having said that, I’m excited to say that I am looking a doing a few acoustic solo gigs. A sort of ‘Patrick Sorrentino Unplugged’ Lol so stay tuned for the next instalment. 🙂

What an amazing evening! Last night Michael Leigh came over and played some didgeridoo on one of my latest songs called ‘Byroad Blues’. The results in really cool. The song is a bit reminiscent of the Robert Johnson classic ‘The Crossroads’ but my story also takes some influence from the Greek legend of ‘Orpheus‘ and Australian Aboriginal ‘Dreaming Stories.’ There is a bit of a sneak preview of part of the intro to the song below 🙂

Hi everyone. I don’t often do gigs. That’s because when I do, I like it to be a special event. What better occasion than a special birthday! So, on the 29th of October (1 month after my actual BD) I’ll be celebrating in the beer garden of the Duke with a special Birthday show. ‘The Mind Block’ will start the night and my band will come on after. This time I am fortunate to have the magnificent, Tracy Dowden (Final Touch) on Keys, an old mate Nathan Bills (Open Slather) on Bass and Herb Schmidt (The Ring Ins) on Drums. So, we are in for a great night. Oh! Did I forget to mention the release of my new song ‘I Just Wanna Make Love To You’.

Well, it’s finally out! Finally, because this song was written back in April while I had COVID. It was recorded two weeks later and it has been sitting there ever since. I had planned to release a different song as a follow-up to ‘A Dream Is All It Was Mean To Be’. But then I thought that I might release something totally different. More light-hearted and fun. So I wrote this . ‘I Just Wanna Make Love To You’. Don’t try to find any hidden meanings in this song. You won’t find any! Just go for the ride and enjoy it for what it is. The video will be out in a couple of weeks.

On Friday the 15th of July we started filming the video of my new song ‘I just wanna make love to you’. The song was recorded about 3 months ago while I was in lockdown with COVID. I wanted to do something totally different and more lighthearted than the last one ‘A dream is all it was meant to be’. The song hit 1k views on YouTube in under 2 weeks which is amazing for a first release and very little promotion.
This new video has been plagued with many setbacks but is finally on its way. We had such fun filming it. It is set as a garage band rehearsal but as the video progresses the green screen will introduce other visual elements to the video. As always I could not have done any of this without the help of all the beautiful behind me.

From left to right: As always, Grant Tucker on camera, Holly Marling on Drum, me on Guitar Vocals, Nathan Bill on Bass(Open Slather) and Tracy Dowden on Keys (Final Touch)
The shots below are a taster for the video to come. Thank you so much to beautiful Kristen Lochert for letting me use your garage. Love you.
As I way say it’s not just about the end goal. It’s about the journey and the wonderful memories you create and the people you’re with at the time that is important.
